Lerato Shadare is a South African  Singer, songwriter, vocal coach, choir director, vocal arranger and stage Actress.  In her own words she says  “ Music chose me”, music has been an integral part of her life from a very tender age. She comes from a very rich musical background with strong influences from her own Family,  church and her country’s deep musical roots . With her father a skillful choir director and her  mother an excellent soprano singer the entire house would always be  filled with melodies as she and her siblings would go about their daily chores and life.

Her professional career  began at the age of 17 when she and her girl band got signed by David Gresham record label. She then later  joined forces as a female member of a hip hop group called Kaydo which was signed by Gallo records.  She moved on to sing for one of the most successful gospel choirs in South Africa called Joyous Celebration while simultaneously working as a studio singer for Sony music South Africa and backing vocalist.

Her music career expanded to Europe where she graced theatrical stages of The Lion king  German production, and  Kammer Oper Vienna. She then went on to perform on theatrical tours and Gospel European tours.

When she is not singing, she fulfills her exhilarating task as the mother of two enchanting sons. Lerato is happily married to the Award-winning producer and jazz guitarist Agboola Shadare.
